Joy of the Season!

Stamp Sets: Stampin' Up The Sounding Joy

Ink: SU Cherry Cobbler, SU Pool Party -- Naturally, you would change these ink colors to suit your chosen designer paper

Paper: SU Whisper White, SU Cherry Cobbler, Christmassy Designer paper

Accessories: SU ribbon, any edge punch

Begin by stamping the star (from SU The Sounding Joy) in SU Pool Party ink onto Whisper White cardstock. Then overstamp Joy in Cherry Cobbler.  Stick the trimmed Joy/Star onto designer paper and use an edge punch to create accent trims.

Create the background of the card by piecing together the two bits of designer cardstock, making one piece slightly bigger than the other. For example, the cards above have one strip 2.75 inches deep versus 1.75 inches.

IMPORTANT: Piece these together and then add the ribbon before putting them onto your folded card. This way, the ribbon ends are neatly tucked out of sight.

The ribbon between the two pieces serves several functions – it adds an extra dimension and also hides the edges.

A Festive French Fry Box

Does this gift box have a familiar shape? Picture it filled with French fries!

Now imagine it all dressed up for the festive holiday season and stuffed with candy or other goodies. It’s incredibly easy to make using the Sizzix Big Shot and die.

Using designer cardstock makes this project even faster, but of course, you can stamp and create your own design.

As you can see, the box has some embellishments, including a Christmas tree edged with gold ink and topped with a little gold jingle bell.

The back is embellished with ribbon and a dangling tag from the Stampin' Up Gifted set. The Noel tag is stamped in SU Bravo Burgundy onto SU Crumb Cake cardstock. SU circular punches (sizes 1.75 and 2.5 inches) are used to create the Noel tag.

A Circular Christmas

Circles are a perfect way to create a wreath effect on your Christmas cards. So dig out your circle stamps and circular dies or punches and get creative!
