I love shimmery things! I use my glimmer mists a lot when I create cards; in particular, I like Lindy's Moon Glow Glitz Spritz products.
Jan of Persnickety suggested doing a shimmery card for a summer artwork swap, and I had to play!
The rust brown cardstock was first sprayed with a gold glimmer mist. Then the butterfly or dragonfly stamp was dipped into a diluted bleach mixture and stamped on the shimmery paper, while it was still damp. It was over-stamped in vanilla pigment ink, while the paper was still damp. This technique makes a subtle shadow, creating a dimensional final image. Other colors of glimmer mist and pigment ink can be used.
I used these dragonflies and butterflies on an earlier art project a couple of weeks ago. The stamps are "On Gossamer Wings" from Stampin' Up.
The friends stamp is from Inkadinkado; it was stamped onto a gold embossed domino game piece.
These cards will be sent to my stamping friends Phyllis, Barb and Sue.
